Jayantibhai Patel (1931-2014): Founder
Jayantibhai came to the United States in 1970 to make a better life for his family. Circumstance dictated that he had to leave his wife and 5 very young children back in Africa till he could support them in America. He was a well qualified teacher in Uganda but in this country, he could not find a teaching job. Many months passed during which he self taught himself real estate investment & development principles. He entered a lease-option to buy contract for the Vincent Hotel, in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. Now his family joined him and together, they worked long hours, lived a frugal lifestyle and saved enough funds to purchase the Vincent Hotel.

Prakash Patel: President
Prakash has worked with his brother, Paresh Patel, to grow Lotus into a multi-state hospitality company. His expertise in investor relations, creative financing and asset management has propelled Lotus through years of consistent and steady growth. He is equally active in community organizations, lending his expertise through voluntary service and extensive philanthropic activities sponsored by the Lotus Foundation, a charitable arm of the company.

Paresh has worked with his brother, hand in hand to grow and sustain Lotus Management. His expertise in investor relations, site/asset analysis, construction, franchise negotiations has equally fueled the company's consistent growth. Like Prakash, he shares the same voluntary and philanthropic commitment.

Pratima Patel, CPA: CFO
Pratima oversees and directs all company wide accounting practices. She centralized all accounting functions for the company and transitioned them to MS Great Plains. She created the Lotus hotel budget system and process. She also provides an important fact based perspective when comparing hotel financial performance across our portfolio through monitoring historical trends and other key financial information.
Pratima worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Lotus Management. She is a graduate from Santa Clara University with a BS in Accounting and is a CPA. She is an active volunteer and leads a local teenage girl youth group at her place of worship.

Katki Patel, CFP: Director of Finance
Katki leads investor relations for the company and manages the company’s commercial loans. She oversees all aspects of asset management and further, she develops financial models to assess debt packages for new and existing hotels. She is a California licensed real estate broker and handles all real estate transactions.
Katki has worked in a boutique financial planning and advisory service company as a financial advisor. She holds a BS in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Finance Planner®. She is an active volunteer as a parent coordinator for a local children’s youth group at her place of worship.

Vishal Patel: Director of Human Resources, People & Culture
Vishal ensures the Lotus team maintains an employee-oriented, high performance culture that is focused on quality, productivity, and goal attainment. He works closely with hotel General Managers to ensure that all staff members are aware of company policies, practices and values. He closely monitors all payroll related expenses and is continuously analyzing industry best practices to evolve our HR policies, procedures, people & culture..
Prior to joining Lotus, Vishal worked in the hospitality and staffing industry where he worked through the ranks to hone his skills on Policy Development and Documentation, Employee Retention and Organizational Astuteness. Vishal graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Justice Studies and a minor in Business.

Jiten "JP" Patel: Regional Director of Operations
JP has served as president of the California Lodging Industry Association (CLIA) and is a past recipient of the Atascadero Business Person of the Year award given for service to community. He has also served as the Commissioner for the California Travel & Tourism Committee where he was involved with promoting California as a travel destination. He is active Rotary member serving as Board Secretary.

Sunil Patel, CHA: Regional Director of Operations
Sunil oversees operations for several hotels in the Lotus portfolio with an expertise in the IHG brand. He has worked every position in the hospitality industry from hotels to restaurants. He uses that knowledge and experience to guide, motivate and educate our General Managers to be great leaders and operators of hotels. His attention to portfolio performance is insightful and valuable for future year budget development and new project proforma analysis.
Sunil received a CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) for his exceptional experience and knowledge base in the industry. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a double major in Finance and Management. He is an active volunteer as a parent coordinator for a local children’s youth group at his place of worship.

Sita Patel, CHA: Regional Director of Operations & FFE Procurement
Sita oversees operations for several hotels in the Lotus portfolio with an expertise in the Marriott brand. She is an excellent guide and mentor for our General Managers and has deep insight into F & B operations for semi-full service hotels. Her attention to portfolio performance is insightful and valuable for future year budget development and new project proforma analysis. In addition to operational expertise, Sita has excellent data management and logistics planning skills which she uses for FFE procurement.
Sita is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Finance and has also obtained her Real Estate Salesperson License. She is an active volunteer providing digital media service for the local, regional and national level projects for her place of worship.

Rakesh Patel: Director of Development
Rakesh has worked “hands on” all positions in the hotel industry from operations to construction. He oversees various aspects of project development and execution from new development projects to re-models.
Rakesh is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Biology and minors in Math, Chemistry and Marketing. He is a California licenced General Contractor. He is an active volunteer as a parent coordinator for a local and regional teenage youth groups at his place of worship.
